Stairway Surfing

Retired for six years and now I keep visiting the hospital as a patient. I sure didn't plan this latest episode but I have to admit I am totally at fault for my foolishness.

I fell down
And it hurt like hell,
Scraped my arm
And rang my bell,
But my brain didn't bleed
Though my collarbone cracked,
As experiences go
I would rather redact.

If you want the details
I won't give them,
Each time that I repeat it
I am forced to relive them,
And you might reinforce
My blatant stupidity,
Wondering if I have
Any sense of lucidity.

After this, I will take it easy
I'll order others around,
They can buy my good advice
For a penny and a pound,
I will play the old master
The wizard at the club,
And I'll tell those whippersnappers
They can find me at the brewpub.
